Under eye bags are one of the primary and frequent reasons for consultation.
Under eye bags appear due to many various factores, influding:
- Genetics.
- Malaria fat loss (due to age) which causes a loss of support at the level of the cheekbone.
- Hernia of the fat under orbital/ Under-eye fat prolapse.
- Sagging skin and lower eye lid loss of tone. With the passage of time, the lower eyelid becomes longer.

POSSIBLE TREATMENTS

Hyaluronic Acid
The injection of hyaluronic acid lifts the malar fat and restore the volume of the cheekbone. By filling or strengthening (depending on the patient's anatomy) the valley of tears and the area of the ring, we camouflage the under eye bags/ pockets. The quality of the result depends on the Doctor administrating the injection and the product used. Normally one injection session is enough. The consequences/ results areboth light and mild, there is no downtime and light brusing may occure for a few days, thus there is no social foreclosure. The mastery of the technique is essential because, the risks are the aggravation of the pocket/ bags, an irregular result, persistent suborbital swelling (if the product used is very hydrophilic or if it was injected in the wrong plane or if too large quantities were injected), an unnatural result.
Ablatif Laser
This treatment is performed in order to thicken the skin of the lower eyelid. 4 fractional ablative laser sessions are to be performed, only one continuous laser. The consequences of the laser session are variable, depending on the power used that is defined with the patient depending on the relaxation of the eyelids, the color of his or her skin and the consequences that he or she is willing to accept. Social prediction and down time varies between one and four days, redness can persist for a week. In rare occassions there is an appearance of small crusts that disappear in a few days. If the doctor is not experienced there is a risk of burns and scars, moreover, if the setting are too low there is a risk that the treatment will not be successful and or effective.
